Jan Stumpf is an electrical engineer and co-founder of Oceanflight Technologies, which develops sensing, control and actuation systems for actively stabilised hydrofoil boats. He previously co-founded Ascending Technologies, a German drone and flight-software company whose work included autonomous navigation technology.
Intel acquired Ascending Technologies in 2016, after which Stumpf worked there as a Senior Principal Engineer focused on drones. His background combines electronics, software and the development of complex physical products. He is also active as a business angel. Across his ventures, his experience has centred on bringing autonomous systems from engineering development into practical applications.
