Nikolaus D. Bayer co-founded IRIS Analytics, which developed software for fraud prevention and risk management in electronic payments. IBM acquired the company in 2015. Trained in computer science, he later established BeAI as a vehicle for early-stage investment in B2B software and selected climate solutions.
Bayer is also Deputy Chair of Business Angels Deutschland. His investment interests include artificial intelligence, digitalization, IT security and impact, drawing on his experience building payment infrastructure. Business Angels Deutschland named him Business Angel of the Year in 2020. His career brings together technical company building, angel investing and work within Germany’s business-angel community.
